So Proud

My grandfather, CD Lancaster, was asked to participate in a "Veterans History Project" conducted by a Jackson news station. He was one of five brothers to enlist or be drafted to serve during wartime. Thankfully, all of them made it safely home to my great grandmother. I heard his amazing story once before when I interviewed him for a school project in 11th grade. He prefers most of the time to keep quiet about his experiences. I can only imagine what deep emotions it must stir. However, it is a story of courage, luck, perseverance, and deep sadness. I am proud that now an audience will have the pleasure of knowing what I have known my entire life - what a truly amazing man my grandfather is.
I hope you will take the time to view what was aired. It is only a snippet of the hour-long interview conducted, but it was still enough to make me very emotional.
I love you and am so proud, Grandaddy.

I knew there was a reason I liked that old man! He's a pretty good egg..even if he did call me house-ape until I was 13.

That's so funny. I didn't realize that you had posted this until I read your comment. He is quite a guy. We are so blessed to have him as our Grandaddy.
