WellsFest!

I headed out super early Saturday morning for a 5K race in Jackson that was associated with a local music/family festival. Mom & Clare were going to bring the kids over after my race to enjoy the festivities. It was all to support Mustard Seed, which is a great organization. I was especially excited about this race because Paige decided to run it, as well! We have been trying to get together for a race for some time without any luck. Jeremy & Amelia were cheering us on!

Paige & I both had a great run and I crossed the finish line just 20 or 30-seconds (update - just viewed results and it was barely 20 seconds difference) before she did. I definitely had my best race time to date. Luckily, Paige decided not to trip me when she had the chance...because we both really wanted the sneaker trophy (created by Mustard Seed artists) that I ended up winning for placing 3rd in our age group.

After the awards, we walked back over to the festival to join in the fun with the kids. The music was nice and the kid's activities were pretty cool. It was a great way to spend a Saturday!

Also, it was nice getting to catch up with my friends, Elizabeth & Derek, who also participated in the 5k! Congrats on your 1st, guys!
